Origin and production of Lugat Costa Rica Finca Alfaro ground coffee
Who would have imagined that your Italian coffee maker would offer you the possibility to taste an exceptional coffee from the Lugat brand?
Let us tell you the story of this coffee, the fruit of the work of more than 1000 families gathered within Beneficio Palmichal, located south of San José. In this region, Caturra and Catuai varieties are cultivated between 1200 and 2000 meters altitude, benefiting from a privileged location between the Pacific coast and the Sierra de Talamanca, sheltered from humidity. The sun and climate complete these ideal conditions.
Initially founded by Manuel and Romelia Rojas, pioneers of coffee cultivation in Tarrazu, the Beneficio Palmichal farm was then taken over by Roberto Montero Castro, an iconic figure in coffee. In 1994, Neumann Kaffee Gruppe perpetuated the legacy by purchasing Don Roberto's farm and mill, thus ensuring the legendary quality of these coffees.
