The Ariete Espresso Vintage 1389 coffee machine truly lives up to its name with its retro design, entirely made of ABS, and its charm coming from the aviation-style buttons.
But beware, this vintage coffee machine is not just beautiful, it is also a high-performing beginner espresso machine. A hybrid portafilter allowing you to insert a filter for two doses of ground coffee as well as a single-cup filter allowing you to extract both ground coffee and ESE pods.
Water is heated thanks to a thermoblock: the machine is ready to use quickly.
The stainless steel steam wand makes it easy to create milk foam for your favorite milk-based drinks. It can also be used to dispense hot water.
This Ariete Vintage espresso machine is easy to use and the temperature indicators allow you to ensure that your extraction will be to your taste.

- The in-cup result with ground coffee is disappointing, as the brew group has a size better suited to ESE pods
Expert opinion:
The Ariete Vintage is a machine with a look that evokes the 60s thanks to its off-white and pale color.
Ce qui compte avant tout pour moi, c'est le résultat en tasse. Le hic concerne les filtres de 58 mm, qui ne correspondent pas vraiment à la dimension du groupe d'extraction (la douchette étant nettement plus réduite). On obtient ainsi un résultat convenable avec du café moulu, nettement supérieur toutefois avec des dosettes ESE.
Cette machine expresso au look vintage constitue un choix pertinent pour guider les novices dans l'aventure de l'expresso domestique.
Je relève néanmoins que le bac de récupération manque un peu d'ampleur, sa capacité limitée impose de surveiller attentivement le niveau d'eau.
À noter toutefois, la buse vapeur injectant l'air représente un atout pour les amateurs de boissons lactées crémeuses, moins pour ceux visant le latte art, mais ce n'est pas la vocation première de ce type d'appareil.
