This coffee tamper (translate " compressor " or " coffee tamper " in proper French) from the brand Ascaso is metal (58mm).

Its particularity lies in a telescopic rod that controls the pressure applied to the grind and ensures excellent consistency in compacting at the bottom of the filter. It's a pro tool.

Even though the fineness and uniformity of the grind represent the essential criterion for obtaining excellent espresso coffee, compacting the grind remains of paramount importance.
