The design of the Bodum Douro French Press pays tribute to the vineyard terraces of the Douro Valley in Portugal. This stainless steel French Press with double wall 18/10 shiny finish, is slightly ribbed with a practical wood-effect handle. For maintenance, it is recommended to clean it with hot soapy water before first use and after each extraction.
Preparing a good coffee in a French Press is easy. Pour the equivalent of one teaspoon of ground coffee per coffee cup into the pitcher; cover with 90 ml of hot non-boiling water per coffee cup; stir lightly and let brew for 4 to 5 min. After the brewing phase, slowly and steadily press the plunger all the way down. All that's left is to serve!
The coffee in a French Press must be prepared with a coarser grind than that used in a domestic filter coffee maker. In this sense, pre-ground coffees found in stores may leave unsightly deposits at the bottom of your cup.
