Mint tea can be enjoyed all year round, hot with or without sugar, or iced in summer to appreciate the freshness of mint. This recipe is inspired by the Moroccan tradition where mint tea symbolizes hospitality. Dammann Frères created this blend from an organic Gunpowder green tea from China. The leaves are rolled, then subtly scented with a natural mint flavor.
Gunpowder green tea is infused in water at 80°: a higher temperature would accentuate the astringency and mask the menthol notes. The infusion is quick, only 3 minutes, to quickly enjoy your tea. For a classic preparation, add sugar, or taste it plain to feel the vegetal character of green tea. For an iced version, infuse hot then let cool to avoid excessive astringency.
