Perfectly controlled extraction

The dripper SSD-200-B by Hario gives you the ability to customize your extraction. While a classic dripper controls flow through grind fineness, the Switch Dripper features a closing mechanism at its base to hold the coffee and develop distinct aromas and bitterness. Once the desired extraction time is reached, press the lever to let the coffee flow directly into your cup.

How to perform an extraction

Place the dripper on a cup, insert the filter, press the lever, and pour preheated water at 93° C (depending on the selected coffee). This phase is essential to moisten and rinse the filter, as well as to preheat your vessel and avoid any thermal shock. Empty your vessel before moving to the next step and position the lever up. Place 20 grams of coffee in the filter and pour 240 ml of water in a circular motion. After 30 seconds, use a spatula to stir the surface to fully moisten the coffee and obtain a fine foam. Extraction time adjusts according to your preferences, with total duration around 2 minutes. Once finished, press the lever and enjoy your coffee.
