Paraguay is among the main producing countriesof organic sugar. Sugarcane cultivation is carried out by small producers

(2 to 3 hectares). The supply chain is then organized around sugar industries that process their harvest. In the end, the producers have little weight to negotiate. However,

a cooperative, Manduvira, which brings together 1500 producers and agricultural workers, has succeededin establishing itself in the supply chain. It has its sugar manufactured by a local factory and exports directly. Recently, the producers have decided to build their own processing plantfor cane sugar.
