Crafted from roasted lupin seeds, lupin coffee serves as a caffeine-free substitute for conventional coffee. Its flavor profile closely resembles that of regular coffee, featuring subtle hints of hazelnut and caramel. Much like traditional coffee, it comes in varying intensities. This particular dark variety, boasting a bold intensity reminiscent of a dark roast, will especially satisfy enthusiasts of Italian-style coffee.
The grind of lupin coffee is notably coarser and denser compared to standard coffee, and it expands more during brewing due to its elevated protein content. For this reason, we recommend using a slightly smaller quantity than you typically would with regular coffee. It works well with espresso machines, drip coffee makers, moka pots, French presses, and more. Aim for approximately 6 to 8 grams per 100 ml of water.
Lupi Coffee dark lupin coffee can be enjoyed either hot or cold. The "dark" blend is specifically formulated for espresso preparation. That said, you're welcome to savor it as a long coffee or incorporate it into milk-based beverages such as cappuccinos or iced lattes.
Once opened, keep it in a dry location, protected from light, and sealed tightly. Consider transferring it to a dedicated coffee storage container for added convenience.
