The SMEG retro design for a modern espresso machine.

The SMEG espresso machine EGF03PGEU brings together cutting-edge technologies in a retro design unique, the result of collaboration with the deepdesign® studio of Matteo Bazzicalupo and Raffaella Mangiarotti.

It is a solid coffee machine, featuring a die-cast aluminium body and stainless steel finishes.

The integrated grinder features stainless steel conical burrs, ensuring uniform grinding that preserves the full aroma of the coffee.

The dual Thermoblock heating system (one dedicated to the coffee circuit, the other to the steam circuit) ensures fast heating time and instant steam production.

Thanks to the 58 mm diameter portafilter and the steam wand, both in stainless steel, you can extract a beautiful espresso and make milk-based drinks like a true barista.

Furthermore, the pressure gauge on the front panel allows you to monitor your extraction pressure.

Use and settings of the SMEG EGF03PGEU espresso machine

The SMEG EGF03PGEU comes with pressurized filters (to extract good coffee even if your grind is not ideal) and single filters (to learn how to make espresso properly by testing different degrees of grind, coffee doses and pressures).

This manual espresso machine gives you the possibility to customize your drinks according to your preferences.

- You can directly choose between two pre-set grinding options to prepare a single or double espresso.

- The grind fineness adjustment is easily done by turning the hopper to the desired notch: from 0 (superfine) to 15 (medium grind).

- The hopper has a capacity of 250 g of coffee beans. Its removal facilitates maintenance.

- The settings allow you to choose your pre-infusion among 4 available profiles (short, standard, long, progressive pre-infusion) and adjust 4 temperature levels.

The stainless steel steam wand is equipped with a rubberized burn protection.

To emit steam and create milk foam, you have 2 steam intensity levels, adapted according to the desired milk preparation.

Hot water is also accessible via the steam wand.

The water reservoir of the SMEG EGF03PGEU coffee machine offers a capacity of 2.4 L.

After 10 minutes of inactivity, the machine automatically switches to energy-saving mode. This standby delay is adjustable.

Visual alerts are displayed when needed (insufficient water level, descaling required, etc.)

The SMEG EGF03PGEU pastel green features a passive stainless steel cup warmer as well as a small hidden drawer located behind the drip tray, intended for storing your accessories.

Accessories and maintenance.

The SMEG EGF03PGEU espresso machine is supplied with a complete set of accessories : double spout stainless steel portafilter, pressurized filter 1 cup, pressurized filter 2 cups, single filter 1 cup, single filter 2 cups, 58 mm stainless steel tamper, cleaning brush, silicone disc for group maintenance, stainless steel milk pitcher.

The filter cartridge is not included. For water filtration, it is necessary to purchase this SMEG cartridge.

The silicone disc allows you to perform a backflush (deep cleaning).

SMEG recommends using cleaning tablets specific to domestic coffee machines, as well as a suitable descaler for the descaling operation.
