1336 is the number of days that the standoff between the employees of the Fralib factory and the Anglo-Dutch multinational Unilever, the world's leading producer of ice cream and tea. Just a few kilometers from Marseille, workers fought to keep their jobs and save their Gémenos factory, which was slated for closure. After making themselves heard all summer long, then the summer after that, and the one after that too, and after 1336 days of exemplary mobilization, the former Fralib employees finally triumphed by buying back the factory as SCOP TI (Société Coopérative Ouvrière Provençale de Thés et d'Infusions) and creating the 1336 tea and herbal infusion brand.
