Over the past few days, I put the Kottea EVE through its paces, and I have to say, it genuinely impressed me. What really sold me was the form factor: compact, featherlight, yet packing all the features you'd expect from a full-sized unit. It slips effortlessly into any kitchen nook, sits comfortably on a workspace, or fits right into a small apartment setup. This is clearly a machine built for everyday reality—where square footage is limited and schedules are packed.

Heat-up time is lightning-fast: 25 seconds flat, and you're good to go. The thermoblock heating system accounts for this rapid performance. One thing to keep in mind: if you're pulling multiple shots back-to-back, the water temperature may creep slightly higher with successive extractions—nothing major, but worth noting. The adjustable cup support also caught my attention: it detaches easily to accommodate everything from petite espresso cups to oversized mugs.

But the real star is what ends up in your cup. I achieved a gorgeous, thick crema with well-rounded mouthfeel and an excellent extraction. I ran it with Lugat capsules (my go-to choice) and the outcome was outstanding. For those who care about presentation, I'd suggest grabbing some double-walled glassware—it really elevates the visual experience of watching that perfect shot pull.
